What is IELTS?

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test for people who need to demonstrate English language proficiency for study or work in English-speaking countries.
IELTS measures your ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.

There are two different modules - academic and general training - for the reading and writing components of the test, but listening and speaking tests are the same for both modules.
