As someone who has been through the whole migration process I understand the logistics and planning involved in moving from one side of the world to another. The idea of starting a new life in an unfamiliar country can be very daunting.

You go through the whole visa process and then the “golden ticket” arrives.  The euphoric feeling soon passes with the realisation that your dream of a new life has actually come true and you are faced with the prospect of packing up your life and starting all over again…then the questions start:

  • Should I ship all my belongings or buy everything new when we get there?  
  • Will I find a job? 
  • Do I need short-term accommodation when I arrive? 
  • How do I get from the airport?
  • What will my income be?  
  • Where do I go to buy a car?”

  • How do I transfer my money? 
  • Where shall I live?
  • What’s medicare? 
  • Where will my children go to school? 
  • Will they settle? 
  • How will they adapt in their new country?

These are all questions that I asked before we moved from UK to Australia.  I searched long and hard to find a company that could help me pre and post arrival and at the time I could not find a service that was flexible and offered solutions or assistance with the mammoth task I was about to face.  It was even more difficult because I was still employed in full-time job.
